Webinar organized in cooperation with PhotonicsNL. The webinar will be held in English. The Webinar tool is Cisco Webex platform.

Please register until June, 13. You will keep informed and get the invitation link via Cisco Webex.

Agenda

Photonics techniques have been extensively implemented into numerous applications for food safety inspection and quality control ensuring the high quality of agricultural products. Additionally, cold atmospheric plasma treatment allows the design of gentle decontamination processes for perishables.

Examples for combined photonics-based quality monitoring and innovative process design along the entire production chain of plant-related foods will be discussed in the webinar.

Speaker: Oliver Schlüter | Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy (ATB), Germany

In this webinar, we will discuss the recent development of integrated spectral sensors capable of identifying and quantifying key properties of fruits, plants, and organic materials along the full food production chain: on the field by farmers, in storage areas, within the distribution process.

This innovative technology is based on arrays of detectors sensitive in the near-infrared, having dimensions similar to current smartphone cameras. They will offer a fast, low-cost, contactless, and non-invasive method to retrieve the chemical composition of materials without the need for sample preparation.
